Amy Pleasant
Around And Between
January 3 - 8, 2015
In Around And Between, Amy Pleasant will exhibit new work, her first show in Nashville since 2003.
This new body of work features paintings and a series of cut outs, which exist somewhere between painting and sculpture, some hung on the wall and others arranged on a platform like remnants from an archeological dig. Pleasant plays with painting’s physicality and materiality as well as the tension between figuration and abstraction.
