LOVERBABIES

LOVERBABIES is a collection of video work by Clarissa Rose Peppers & Nick Hay that investigates the dialogue of two artists collaborating in art-making as they do domestically, in love.  The grouping was conceived as a representation of the life that they share together with their young son.  It presents instances of cooperation and opposition, affection and disdain, as well as attraction and repulsion. These dichotomies are inherent in every intimate relationship and ultimately result in tangible outcomes not unlike the process of making art.

Clarissa Rose Peppers was born in Cincinnati, OH.  She received her BFA from Northern Kentucky University (2011), and her MFA from the University of Colorado Boulder (2013).  She has exhibited nationally in Ohio, Kentucky, and Colorado.  She currently lives and works in Nashville, TN, and she absolutely loves to do yoga.

Nick Hay was born in San Antonio, TX.  He received his BFA from Texas State University (2010) and his MFA from the University of Colorado Boulder (2014).  He has exhibited nationally in Texas, Colorado, Tennessee, and New York.  He currently lives and works in Nashville, TN, and he absolutely refuses to do yoga.
